Gardeners Have a Lot of Wisdom

Tripping the light fantastic back to your grandma’s days, let’s visit the topic of gardeners and their savvy, when gardening was seen as valuable. If it wasn’t valuable, why did they devote their time to weeding, pruning, getting scratched and sweaty, and digging around the bottom of plants.

I saw this more fully around my backyard deck. As I dove into the daunting task of cutting back an unwieldy planter box of petunias, dianthus and wandering verbena, I admired the distant appearance of abundance. The full picture brought about by the sun’s rays, my having watered and fertilized, was so lovely. Inexperienced gardeners would stop here, not realizing the importance of deadheading to encourage growth.

As I began my work, I noticed how much had changed since my last pruning just two weeks ago. Complete areas had withered away. The deeper I ventured into the plants, the more I recognized that had to be eliminated. When the plants grew stronger, pieces that had been their foundation became unnecessary. The pruning done allowed the unique beauty of each plant to be displayed.

The harder I worked to remove dead components, the more I found. When I stood back to admire my work the outward appearance hadn’t changed dramatically, but I knew that the plant was stronger and healthier. My effort was complete. Or so I thought.

I walked around to see the opposing view of the planter and soon learned that there was additional work to be done. Nature had taught me some wonderful lessons via her gifts? I was reminded of two life lessons which are beneficial to revisit from time to time.

1) In order to grow, these plants had to let go of parts of themselves. In fact, the more they allowed unneeded fractions to break away, the more resilient and burgeoning they became. For us humans this means not holding onto the parts of us that have wilted away — emotional injuries, outdated beliefs and hurtful images of our past. Let go of your parents’ mistakes, hurtful adolescent remarks and your own misjudgments or errors. Like a dried-up leaf, they are no longer a part of who you are today and are only masking your brilliance.

2) I thought my last task was completed, but it was not. Looking at it from another angle provided vital new information on which to work. And if I had stood above it and below it, I would have continued to discover new parts to be eliminated. Another observer could have found even more to work on. The work with any living thing, while rewarding and challenging, is never really done. This is a reality. When you let go, life begins to unfold.

I urge you to garden. Experience this allegory for yourself in your own yard or explore through your journal. Please take time this week to stand back to see what is growing within you and what needs to be pruned away for good. Be bold. Make strong final cuts. Life lessons can be easily learned. Enjoy your discoveries and have an insightful week.

Learn Covert Hypnosis In 2 Quick Steps

Learn Covert Hypnosis In 2 Quick Steps

Hypnosis, generally performed in a quite setting, is utilized to aid people with certain problems they may have like, anxiety, fear, habits and even to deal with pain. Typically, this is performed by a hypnotherapist and is just a way of aiding individual’s to relax their minds and block out distractions so that their mind is left open to suggestion. There are other types of hypnosis, however, such as covert hypnosis. This is also a way in which subtle suggestions can be entered into someone else’s mind but this is done in a totally different setting.

Covert hypnosis is basically a way of being able to communicate with somebody on a subconscious level. This form of hypnosis is utilized without an individual knowing that you are doing it. Of all the many reasons why someone would want to do this, it simply comes down to wanting someone other than yourself the see or feel the same way you do. It is also something that is used in sales tactics, both by a salesman and through the use of a sales letter. Covert hypnosis is done in two basic steps.

Step number one involves building trust with the person who is the focus of your attention, be it a customer or girlfriend. By building trust or rapport, you set the individual’s mind at ease thus opening it up to suggestion. It is not often easy to come up with this rapport but it can be done through the use of using agreeable conversation. For example, if a person is talking to you about the color of the room that you’re in and they dislike the color, you could agree that you also dislike the color. What this accomplishes is that it brings you to their level thus making them more at ease with talking with you.

The second step after establishing trust and rapport is to begin to influence them via body language and conversation. There are many individual’s who do this in order to steer the conversation in a direction that suit’s them. A good example of someone that does this is a used-car salesman. They don’t start out by trying to sell you a car right away, they try and establish some kind of common ground and then they use your comfort level with them in order to steer you in any direction they desire. This is a very successful way of using covert hypnosis in order to get a person to think and reason in the same way that you are.

Once you have mastered the use of covert hypnosis, you can use this method in order to influence any type of conversation. With a little bit of practice, you would be surprised at how easy it is to manipulate somebody else’s feelings on any matter. You’ll soon find yourself doing it in almost an automatic fashion, gently pulling people in any direction you want them to go.

Is There Power Beyond Normal Understanding

Posted on July 22nd, 2008 in Self Improvement by quickmoney-online-services

Is There Power Beyond Normal Understanding?

There are principles and principalities in the world that continually tug at our senses. Even though people accept and reject these entities with little realization of their existence they can be detected and controlled. It is our desire to bring an awareness to people that much of what effects them can not only be controlled but used to their advantage.

“Tell me Don, if there is a word of God that contains incredible power for our advantage but it has eluded us, how then can we find and invoke it?”

“Well Jon, our first observation is this; is there such a Power at all? If so, could such a power protect us from evil? Is there a way to recognize this truth and use it in such a manner that good, and only good comes of it? Because evil in form or another dominates the mind of most people, it has a crippling effect that clouds rational thinking. People can not invoke God’s word without first clearing the mind or becoming free of evil’s influence.”

“But Don, I always thought I was a pretty rational thinking guy, what do you mean by clearing the mind?”

“Like our total environment, our mind has become contaminated by outside influences. No person can make a rational judgment of himself/herself. We no longer think clear because we don’t know what clear thinking is. We can’t recognize our own dilemma because we are part of it. It is impossible for us to be impartial in our observance of ourselves because we see ourselves from a biased viewpoint ”

“If I can’t judge myself, how can I know when or if my mind is clear”

“That’s a good question Jon. Perhaps you could never be completely free from the contaminates of the mind but, a well trained professional could, at least, elevate your understanding and reduce the influence.”

First, free yourself.
The first approach to becoming free is understanding. Through understanding all things become clear as truth replaces our clouded state of observance. While truth opens the doorway to the secret chamber; we should also realize that this power must be used affirmatively. We cannot use it while we deny it. We cannot use it while our minds are filled with doubts and uncertainties about it. Truth is a knowing that faith is the key to its use. Truth contains nothing that could work against us. Truth eliminates false and all contaminates associated with it. So then this is the starting point; truth can never be damaging and begins as a faith that will not be denied.

Then understand
Through understanding truth, we use faith affirmatively, a Law of Good operates on our word and brings into our experience, or the experience of those we are thinking of. The truth we have accepted is reveled as a divine presence in everything we see and do. The creative power of God is imbedded in the human atom, just as Einstein discovered the secret energy caught in the atom, so also can man discover the power of the Kingdom of God which is truth itself.

Where truth comes from
Because truth stems from God, it is available to everyone. A receptor was placed within the human physic or spirit of man so man could experience truth through emotion. Love, hate, sadness, joy all expand our experience to personal improvement. We are improved through emotional involvement. When this dynamic power is discovered it transforms you into a different person. You are reborn, so to speak. Rebirthed into a liberating freedom that transcends the human experience, you truly become a child of God.

It is the use of this power that is the most intriguing because there is a possibility here beyond our fondest dreams and our highest expatiations – the possibility of knowing the truth that can set us free from fear and want and limitation. Finally and clearly as the Holy scriptures tells us, from death itself.

Be responsible
But a responsibility lies in discovering the power and learned how to use it, it must be applied to every situation in life. Once found, one cannot set by and merely be an idle dreamer, drowning in a whirlpool of theories that, however beautiful, can produce no practical results in our everyday living.

As previously stated, we must first realize that the Power exist and that it becomes operational from the center of our own being. This knowledge brings a great burden on our responsibility to use the power in a cautious manner. Definite times every day should be set aside to recognize the Divine presence within and around us. Even this must be more than a vague thought. It must be a resolution in of itself into definite affirmation statements which focus on this Divine presence.

There cannot be any ifs, and or buts about it., no confusion, it must be simple and direct. You must know what you know with faith in the truth of knowing. These are the conditions God has passed down, but to be effective they must be followed by another instruction, which is; when you pray or meditate, when you state your desire, do so affirmatively. Instead of saying, ‘it may be that good will come to me,’ or, ‘it is possible that it might,’ or ‘ perhaps it will, I hope so,’ you should say;

The good I desire in my live, I already posses. That which I ask for I now receive. That which I want and need I now have. Thank you God for this granting my request.

In Using The Power
Stay direct and positive in your request, always thinking God for granting your request and for His generosity. The thing that happens when we pray correctly is simple. We create an attitude of complete acceptance in our own minds. When we do this, the all-powerful law of expansion begins to operate on our acceptance and begins to rearrange all the facts and activities of our lives in such a way that what we have ask for and accepted will actually be revealed in our experience.

Begin now to transform your life into that which you have always wanted.

Happy trails

Spend a Week in Quebec City

Spend a Week in Quebec City

Courtesy of Ciao Bambino, www.ciaobambino.com, a global guide to family-friendly vacation properties.

What’s not to love about a city that makes you feel like a femme fran?ais? Your b?b? and you can live like Europeans (and yet your American dollar will actually have value!) in this charming little city in eastern Canada.

Monday: Sip & Shop
Get your caffeine buzz while your petit chou (this means “little cabbage” but never mind that—it’s an adorable term of endearment nonetheless) listens to French conversation. It’s tough to choose from the city’s 100 caf?s, restaurants and bistros, by my fave is L’Omelette (66 rue Saint-Louis). Not so much for the ambiance (although there’s nothing better than an open-air window seat overlooking the street) but for The. Greatest. Caf? au Lait. In. The. Universe. Whittle away an hour or two then pop in and out of local shops on rue St. Louis. Bring your sturdiest stroller—these cobblestone streets can be killers. Need a bathroom break or diaper change? Every bistro and hotel along the way has clean, accessible bathrooms, with the exception of the Chateau Frontenac, where you need a room key to open up the door to its swanky washrooms.

Tuesday: Gourmet Eats & Fresh Air
Head to J.A. Moisan Epicerie Fine (www.jamoisan.com), North America’s oldest grocery store. Stock up on two or three varieties of cheese, strawberry jam and a loaf on fresh bread. Uneasy because your French is weak at best? Worry not. Even in local stores where English is but an afterthought, employees are friendly and gracious and will find a way to help you figure out what you’re trying to say. Stroll your spoils along the city’s fortification walls and find a lay down a blanket on the massive grassy knolls of Artillery Park (www.pc.gc.ca).

Wednesday: Views & Performers
Live the high life on the edge of Haute Ville, or “Upper Town.” Stroll your darling along the newly renovated Terrace Dufferin and gaze out at the calm waters of the St. Lawrence River from this high perch on the cliffs. Secure an outdoor caf? table for two at any of the caf?s across the street and indulge in crepes with fresh fruit or a vibrant salad. Remember how to get here because you’ll want to return after dark, when street performers break out their juggling and flame throwing gear to enrapture you and your cherie.

Thursday: Galleries & Cannons
Now go way down to the other side of town—Basse Ville, or “Lower Town.” The streets are lumpy and bumpy, so strap on a Baby Bjorn or personal carrier. You can take the Casse-Cous (Breakneck Stairs) if you’re daring, but you’ll be much more comfortable in the Funicular, an outdoor glass elevator. Poke your head into the art galleries, pick up a few locally crafted jewels and—if your baby has already turned into a toddler—head over to UNESCO-sponsored playground on Place-Royale filled with pirate ships and cannons.

Friday: Out & About
Drive over to the Parc Aquarium du Quebec (www.sepaq.com/paq/en/). It’s small enough to manage without an extra adult hand and your stroller will sail over the meandering outdoor paths and through the indoor exhibits. Sit outside in the park/playground zone and sniff the flowers that line the gardens. Before evening hits, make a reservation for a fine French dinner at Caf? de la Paix (www.cafedelapaix.restoquebec.com). Most restaurants here are well-versed in the art of lingering, so carve out a few hours to savor every course. If your baby does nothing but coo during the evening hours, feel free to bring her along because many local restaurants here are friendly to offspring. Want to relax over wine, doing nothing more than gaze into your honey’s eyes? Book a sitter. Either way, your senses will be indulged and you’ll be feeling like a belle Parisienne in time for the weekend.

Just visiting? Stay at the posh Hotel Manoir Victoria (www.manoir-victoria.com), which has a special entrance for strollers and an indoor pool.
